- Do you ship to the UAE only or internationally?
- We ship across the United Arab Emirates and internationally. UAE options: same-day delivery in Dubai (order before 12 PM), express 1–2 business days (AED 30), or free standard 3–4 business days. GCC countries (Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman) take 4–6 days. International destinations worldwide take 5–7 days for USD 14.
- How much does shipping cost to GCC countries?
- Shipping costs to GCC countries are: Saudi Arabia SAR 50, Kuwait KWD 4, Bahrain BHD 5, Qatar QAR 50, Oman OMR 5. These rates are applied at checkout based on your delivery address. All GCC shipments are tracked.
- How can I track my order?
- Once your order is shipped, you will receive an email with a tracking number and a direct link to track your parcel. You can also contact us via WhatsApp at +971 54 409 9936 or email contact@noorai.ae with your order number for a real-time update.
- What are your order processing hours?
- Orders are processed Sunday through Thursday before 2:00 PM UAE time. Orders placed after 2 PM or on Friday/Saturday will be processed on the next working day. During peak periods (Ramadan, Eid, Hajj season) processing may take an additional 24 hours.
- Do you offer same-day or next-day delivery in Dubai?
- Yes — same-day delivery is available in Dubai (order before 12:00 PM UAE time, Sunday–Thursday). Express delivery (1–2 business days) is available across the UAE for AED 30. Standard UAE delivery is free and takes 3–4 business days. Please select your preferred option at checkout.
- How do I choose the right size for abayas?
- Nooraï abayas are sized by length: S = 54 inch (137 cm), M = 56 inch (142 cm), L = 58 inch (147 cm), XL = 60 inch (152 cm). These lengths are designed to reach the floor for women of average height. If you are taller, we recommend sizing up. - What do the EU sizes 36–46 correspond to for shirts and pants?
- Our shirts and pants follow European sizing: EU 36 (UK 8 / US 4, bust 84 cm, waist 66 cm), EU 38 (UK 10 / US 6, bust 88 cm, waist 70 cm), EU 40 (UK 12 / US 8, bust 92 cm, waist 74 cm), EU 42 (UK 14 / US 10, bust 96 cm, waist 78 cm), EU 44 (UK 16 / US 12, bust 100 cm, waist 82 cm), EU 46 (UK 18 / US 14, bust 104 cm, waist 86 cm). When in doubt, size up.
- Are your kimonos and cardigans available in plus sizes?
- Our current collection covers sizes S to XL. Kimonos and cardigans have a generous, open silhouette that accommodates a range of body types. We are actively working on extending our size range — please contact us at contact@noorai.ae if you need guidance on the best fit for your measurements.
- Can I return an item if the size does not fit?
- Yes — we accept returns and exchanges within 14 days of delivery. The item must be unworn, unwashed, and in its original packaging with tags attached. To start a return, visit our Returns page or contact us via email or WhatsApp. Exchanges for a different size are processed as a new order once we receive the original item.
- What fabrics are used in Nooraï abayas?
- Nooraï abayas are crafted from three primary fabrics: (1) Crepe — a structured, matte fabric with a slight texture that holds its shape beautifully and is ideal for Dubai's air-conditioned environments. (2) Nida — an ultra-smooth, lightweight polyester fabric with a subtle sheen, highly breathable and popular for everyday modest wear. (3) Chiffon — a semi-sheer, flowing fabric used for overlay layers and embellished pieces; pairs with a slip underneath. Each product page lists the exact fabric used.
- Are the fabrics suitable for Dubai's hot climate?
- Yes. All fabrics in our collection are selected specifically for Dubai's climate. Lightweight nida and crepe allow airflow while providing full coverage. Our Hajj & Umrah collection uses the lightest-weight fabrics in the range — cotton-linen blends and airy crepe — designed to keep you cool in Mecca's heat. We avoid heavy materials like thick wool or lined interlinings in our standard collection.
- Do you use sustainable or ethically sourced fabrics?
- Our founder personally sources every fabric from trusted suppliers with long-standing relationships built over 30 years in the Tunisian fashion industry. We prioritise quality and longevity over fast fashion. While we do not yet hold a formal sustainability certification, we are committed to responsible sourcing and are actively evaluating certified sustainable fabric suppliers for future collections.
- Are embellishments (crystals, pearls, embroidery) durable?
- Our embellishments are hand-sewn or machine-embroidered by skilled artisans. Crystal trims and pearl details are individually attached for maximum longevity. To maintain their quality, we recommend hand-washing embellished pieces in cold water or dry cleaning, and turning them inside out for storage. Avoid catching them on rough surfaces.
- How should I wash my abaya at home?
- For crepe and nida abayas without embellishments: machine wash on a gentle/delicate cycle at 30°C (cold) with a mild detergent. Place in a laundry mesh bag to prevent snagging. Do not tumble dry — hang or lay flat to dry away from direct sunlight to preserve the colour. Iron on a low heat setting inside out, or use a steamer. For chiffon and embellished pieces, hand-washing or dry cleaning is strongly recommended.
- Can I put my Nooraï garment in a tumble dryer?
- We do not recommend tumble drying any Nooraï garment. Heat from dryers can shrink fabrics, damage embellishments, and reduce the life of embroidery. Always air-dry flat or on a hanger away from direct sunlight. This applies to all fabrics in our collection — crepe, nida, chiffon, linen blends, and satin.
- How do I remove wrinkles from my abaya?
- The easiest method is a handheld steamer — hold it 5–10 cm from the fabric and move in slow downward strokes. If using an iron, set it to low/medium heat and iron inside out, placing a thin cloth between the iron and the fabric for delicate materials. Crepe responds very well to steaming. Chiffon should only be steamed, never ironed directly.
- How should I store my abaya to keep it in perfect condition?
- Hang your abaya on a wide, padded hanger to preserve the shoulder shape. For long-term storage, fold loosely in acid-free tissue paper and store in a breathable fabric garment bag — avoid plastic bags that trap moisture. Store away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and humidity. For embellished pieces, wrap individually to prevent stones from catching on adjacent garments.
- What payment methods do you accept?
- We accept Visa and Mastercard (credit and debit cards), Apple Pay, and Google Pay — all secured via Stripe. We also offer Tabby — pay in 4 interest-free instalments — for eligible UAE orders. All transactions are encrypted and PCI-DSS compliant. Payment is charged in AED. We do not currently accept cash on delivery or bank transfers.
- What is your return policy?
- You have 14 days from the delivery date to request a return or exchange. Items must be unworn, unwashed, and in original packaging with tags attached. Start a return by emailing contact@noorai.ae or via WhatsApp. Return shipping costs are the customer's responsibility unless the item is faulty or incorrect. Refunds are processed to the original payment method within 5–10 business days of receiving the returned item.
- Can I cancel or modify my order after placing it?
- Orders can be cancelled or modified within 2 hours of placement by contacting us via WhatsApp at +971 54 409 9936 or email at contact@noorai.ae. After 2 hours, orders may already be processed for dispatch and cancellation may not be possible. In that case, you can return the item once received.
- How do I use a voucher or discount code?
- Enter your voucher code in the dedicated discount field at checkout before completing payment. The discount will be applied automatically to eligible items. Vouchers cannot be combined and have a single use per customer unless otherwise stated. If your code is not working, please contact us — it may have expired or have a minimum order requirement.
- Do you offer gift wrapping or personalised notes?
- We offer complimentary gift packaging on request. Please add a note in the order comments at checkout specifying you would like gift packaging and include your personalised message (up to 150 characters). Gift packaging is available for all items in our collection at no extra charge.
- What makes your Hajj & Umrah collection different?
- The Nooraï Hajj & Umrah collection is purpose-built for pilgrimage conditions. Fabrics are selected for breathability in Mecca and Medina's heat, full coverage compliance with Islamic ihram requirements, and practical durability for intensive wear over multiple days. All pieces are in neutral, muted tones (white, cream, beige, grey) and are loose-fitting. The collection includes two-piece coordinated sets, full-length abayas, and layering pieces for the full pilgrimage wardrobe.
- Are your Hajj garments ihram-compliant for women?
- Yes. Our Hajj & Umrah collection garments are designed to meet Islamic requirements for women during Ihram: full coverage of the body (excluding face and hands in the Shafi'i madhab), loose non-form-fitting silhouettes, opaque fabrics, no perfume or fragrance in the fabric, and plain non-embellished designs. Please confirm specific requirements with your local scholar based on your madhab.
- Can I customise or make-to-order pieces?
- We offer limited customisation for some collections, primarily in fabric choice and length adjustments. Please contact us at contact@noorai.ae with the product name, your preferred customisation, and your measurements. Customised orders typically take 2–3 weeks and cannot be returned. Minimum order quantities may apply for bespoke pieces.
